Jacksonville's Palotti Earns Runner of the Week; UNA's Humphries Tabbed Top Freshman

ATLANTA, Ga. - Jacksonville's Hayleigh Palotti was named the ASUN Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week while North Alabama's Lillian Humphries earned Freshman of the Week honors for their performances in the FSU Invitational, it was announced Wednesday by the league office. This is the third honor of the season for Palotti and the second for Humphries.


Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Hayleigh Palotti, Jacksonville
Sophomore | Livonia, N.Y.
- Third Career Runner of the Week honor; third award this season
- Top ASUN runner at the FSU Invitational defeating the best finisher from regionally-ranked North Florida (No. 13, South Region)
- Ran a season-best 5K time in 18:07.3 placing 12th overall out of 244 runners
- Bested runners from No. 11 Florida State, regionally-ranked Florida (No. 6, South Region) and UCF
- The Dolphins hit the course next at the 2019 ASUN Championship on Nov. 2, in Fort Myers, Fla.

- Second Career Freshman of the Week award; second honor this season
- Finished 73rd out of 244 runners with a 5k time of 19:41.0 at the FSU Invitational; fourth among Lion runners
- Helped UNA women finish seventh in a 24-team field that included several Division I programs
- Defeated runners from No. 11 Florida State, regionally-ranked North Florida (No. 13, South Region) and UCF
- The Lions next compete on Friday, Oct. 18, in Montevallo, Ala., at the Blazer Classic
