2019 Women's #ASUNXC Season Continues with Five Teams at Three Sites

Women's Cross Country Schedule


ATLANTA, Ga. - The 2019 ASUN Conference Women's Cross Country season continues this weekend with five league squads hitting three different courses.

At 8 AM on Saturday, FGCU begins the day's action by hosting the FGCU Invitational at the Buckingham Complex, which is also the site of the 2019 ASUN Championship. Liberty and Stetson will also be running in this race. North Alabama will host its first home meet since 2007 when the Lions welcome runners from 13 teams to the UNA Invitational. NJIT will travel to New York and participate in the Fordham Fiasco.

Saturday Races
FGCU hosts FGCU Invitational - Buckingham Complex - 9 AM
- The Eagles took fifth at the FAU Invitational last weekend
- Emily O'Connor led FGCU with a time of 19:51.52 (14th) at the FAU Invitational

Liberty at FGCU Invitational - Buckingham Complex - 9 AM
- Freshman Adelyn Ackley led Liberty to a 1-2-3-4 finish at the Liberty Challenge 4K, winning the race by 68 seconds
- Her performance earned her both ASUN Runner of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors

Stetson at FGCU Invitational - Buckingham Complex - 9 AM
- The Hatters finished seventh at the FAU Invitational last weekend
- Melanie Pacheco led the Hatter women with a time of 20:27.26 and placed 27th overall

North Alabama hosts UNA Invitational - McFarland Park - 8:30 AM CT
- The UNA women finished third in a 14-team field at the JSU Strut's Season Opener last weekend
- Sophomore Phoebe Moon finished fourth individually with a time of 14:57 to lead all Lion runners

NJIT at Fordham Fiasco - Van Cortlandt Park - 9:30 AM
- Placed seventh in their season-opening race at the Lehigh Invitational last weekend
- Cassandra Raia was the top runner for NJIT, placing 34th with a time of 24:18.11
