No. 2 North Florida Earns Fourth-Straight #ASUNWTEN Title

No. 2 North Florida grabbed its fourth-straight ASUN Championship title sliding past No. 4 Stetson 4-1 on Sunday afternoon. The Ospreys' Luise Intert guided UNF to their victory earning the ASUN Tournament MVP.

The action began with North Florida clinching the doubles point in the No. 1/3 spots. Rafaela Gomez/Intert defeated Lucie Renault/Danel Ashirova 6-3, while Valentina Mariotto/Florencia Rossi took down Maxine Bateman/Brooke Milner 6-1. 

The Ospreys continued their dominance in singles play as Gomez won in straight sets over Hatters' Arijana Korac 7-6, 6-1 to give UNF a 2-0 lead. North Florida started to pull away when Intert capped her win in the No. 4 spot over Vicky Geurinchx putting the Ospreys up 3-0. Stetson's Ashirova got the Hatters on the scoreboard at No. 3 when she defeated Lucia Montano 6-1, 7-6. 

It all came down to Court #6 as UNF's Rossi grabbed a three set victory versus Stetson's Danielle Peele 0-6, 6-3, 6-1. 

North Florida enters the NCAA Tournament 17-7 and going 5-1 in conference play. The Ospreys find out who they will face on May 1, while the first and second rounds begin May 11.
