ATLANTA, Ga. - FGCU ended a three-game losing streak at home Thursday night as the Eagles took down Liberty by a final score of 1-0 to secure their 12th point in ASUN Conference Women's Soccer play, inching them closer to locking up an ASUN Championship spot this weekend.

FGCU 1, Liberty 0
The Eagles and Flames came into their contest trending in opposite directions and quickly flipped the script on both with the result on Thursday night. For FGCU, the victory breaks a three-game conference losing streak, the first such occurrence in the history of the program. The victory also marks the 10th of the year for the reigning ASUN champions, the 12th-straight year in which the Eagles reached double-digit victories. Liberty was riding a two-game winning streak in ASUN play, their first-ever victories as members of the ASUN. But unfortunately, they were unable to keep their road magic working and fell 1-0. Evdokia Popadinova secured the only score of the night, netting her ASUN-leading 11th goal of the season to break a 330-minute scoring drought for FGCU. The rest of the match came down to the keepers who each made spectacular saves throughout the game as Melody Jayroe of Liberty recorded eight first-half saves and Melissa Weck notched her eighth clean sheet of the season.
The Flames return to action as they travel back home to Lynchburg on Sunday vs. Stetson. The Eagles have a non-conference match vs. Webber International on Monday before finishing their regular season with a home match next Saturday against in-state foe Stetson.
