ATLANTA, Ga. - As the 2019 ASUN Women's Lacrosse season kicks off on February 8th, we take a closer look at each of the seven conference teams as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Coastal Carolina comes into the 2019 season off a year where it finished runner-up to Jacksonville. They looked poised for another strong season, as they return a good chunk of last year's production. Leading scorer, Haley Alexander returns on the attack for the Chanticleers. She led the squad with 69 points last season with a team-high 51 goals and 18 assists. Alexander earned First Team All-Conference honors and was named to the ASUN's Preseason All-Conference Team. Alexander isn't the only offensive weapon to return. Haley Kyger finished second on the team in points last season with 66. She too was named First Team All-conference in 2018 and also to the Preseason All-Conference Team.

Head Coach Kristen Selvage returns some talented sophomores in Megan Busch and Jordan Harrell. Busch started in all 19 games last season, recording 21 points, 16 ground balls and winning 58 draw controls en route to All-Freshmen Team honors. Harrell appeared in all 19 games, while starting in 15 of them. She tallied 17 points, 27 ground balls, won 43 draw controls and caused 17 turnovers.

Coastal brings back some important pieces on defense with goalie Harley Barrett and defenders, Megan Kilpatrick and Emily D'Orsaneo. Barrett led the conference in save percentage and saves in 2018, and was named First Team All-Conference and Defensive Player of the Year. Kilpatrick started in all 19 games and scooped up 27 ground balls, caused 12 turnovers and was named First Team All-Conference. D'Orsaneo also started in every game last season and earned Second Team All-Conference honors.

The Chanticleers open up the 2019 season on February 9th when they take on familiar foe, Old Dominion. Coastal took down ODU in their previous matchup last season, 16-5. This year's schedule features exciting non-conference matchups with No. 13 Syracuse, Winthrop, Delaware, UConn and William & Mary. Coastal begins ASUN play on March 26th when they host D-I newcomer, Kent State.
