Jacksonville Draws Colorado in Opening Round of NCAA Tournament

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After earning the ASUN Conference automatic bid over the weekend for its second-straight and fifth overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament, Jacksonville University women's lacrosse will be headed to Gainesville, Fla. to face Colorado on Friday, May 11.

The winner will square off against #6 Florida in the second round on Sunday, May 13.

The Dolphins earned their fifth ASUN Tournament title this past Saturday with a record-breaking 25-19 win over the #2 seed Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.

Friday's first round matchup with mark the second meeting between Colorado and Jacksonville. The Buffaloes won the inaugural meeting between the teams in 2014, 20-13.

Eight sites will host first- and second-round competition Friday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12, and four quarterfinal games will be played Saturday, May 19 or Sunday, May 20. These preliminary-round games will be played on the campuses of competing institutions. The winners of the four quarterfinal games will advance to the semifinals and final hosted by Stony Brook University on May 25 and 27 at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, N.Y.
