The title game started off with a scoreless first inning, but the Owls did some damage in the bottom of the second scoring four runs. It began with the ASUN Freshman of the Year, Patricia Awald homering to left field and grabbing her 14th of the season. Then the Owls extended their lead to 5-0 as Maddie Roth scored on a sacrifice hit by Jessie Mullen.

USC Upstate responded in the top of the fourth when ASUN Player of the Year, Karla Beasley homered to left field giving the Spartans some life. Immediately after Beasley, Logan Morris homered to left center field trying to make a comeback as the Owls led 5-2.

The Spartans didn't give up, when in the top of the sixth inning, Megan Obier tripled to right center bringing in two runs and making it a 5-4 game. The Owls had the answer in the bottom half as pinch hitter, Joirea Dumas flied out to center field allowing Mullen to score and putting Kennesaw State up 6-4.

To break open the game, Olivia Tamewitz doubled off a bunt and then advanced to third. Tamewitz then scored off an error by the Spartans' catcher along with Summey. Kennesaw State defeated the defending ASUN Champions USC Upstate by the final score of 8-4.
