ATLANTA, Ga. - Lipscomb and North Florida shared the top honor in the ASUN Conference Men's Cross Country Preseason Coaches Poll after the Bisons and Ospreys combined to capture the last five conference championship titles. Liberty's Azaria Kirwa secured the ASUN Preseason Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year as voted on by the league coaches.
Lipscomb earned four of the nine first-place votes and North Florida collected three as the two teams tied with 73 points. The Bisons are the defending ASUN Conference Champions by defeating the Ospreys by five points in last year's meet. UNF earned its first-ever conference title in 2016. Liberty snatched the final two first-place votes in the preseason rankings after finishing second at the 2017 Big South Championship and seventh at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
FGCU and Kennesaw State concluded the top-five in the Preseason Coaches Poll followed by Stetson, NJIT, North Alabama and Jacksonville. The 2018 ASUN Conference Men's Cross Country Championship takes place on Friday, Oct. 26th in Bronx, N.Y. at Van Cortlandt Park hosted by NJIT.

For the seventh-straight year, the ASUN took to social media to poll the fans for the ASUN Preseason Runner of the Year. With a contest-high 417 votes, North Alabama's Justin Watson was the fan choice for Facebook Fan-Voted Men's Preseason Runner of the Year.
