KSU's Haugh Becomes Third Owl to Qualify for NCAA Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Four members of the Kennesaw State track and field teams competed on day one of the preliminary rounds of NCAA Track and Field Championships East Regional Thursday, May 23 at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.
 
Daniel Haugh finished second in the hammer throw with a toss of 71.53m (234'8"). That throw advances him to Austin, Texas for the finals of the NCAA Track and Field Championships on Wednesday, June 5. Haugh is the first Owl thrower to reach the finals since Josh McNair in 2011.
 
Julija Tarvide tied for 19th in the high jump clearing 1.75m (5'8.75").
 
Brenton Rosa ended his season with a personal-best clearance of 5.11m (16'9.25") in the pole vault finishing 24th.
 
Sarah Hendrick ran a time of 2:08.58 to finish 36th in the 800m to finish her stellar freshman season.
 
Four Owls will compete on day two of the preliminary rounds of the  NCAA Track and Field Championships East Regional Friday, May 24 at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.
