LakePoint, Ga. - Lipscomb's Dawson Armstrong continued his brilliant fall season with a medalist winning performance at the Bayou City Collegiate and collects this week's ASUN Conference Men's Golfer of the Week award, announced by the league office on Thursday.
Armstrong earns his 11th career ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week honor, setting a new career record for most weekly honors by any ASUN male student-athlete. He picked up his second weekly honor of the season after a four-stroke victory in Houston, Texas at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic tournament. The Brentwood, Tenn. native finished with a total score of 204 (-12) to win his eighth career medalist honor. He opened the tournament with a five-under-par 67. Armstrong then followed that up with a 70 and another 67 to close out the individual victory. He posted the lowest stroke average in the field on Par 4s (3.80) and Par 5s (4.42).

He carded 16 total birdies, including a stretch of five consecutive birdies in his opening round. That was tied for the most birdies by any golfer in the field this past week. His play helped the Bisons capture their first team title of the 2017-18 season as Lipscomb won by eight strokes.
Armstrong and the Bisons are back on the course this week when they travel to Atlanta, Ga. to participate in the Autotrader.com Collegiate Classic hosted by Georgia Southern. Play begins with 32 holes on October 16th, while the final round will be played on the following day.
